Pinsa Di Marco: the offer for large-scale retail, explained

Established in 2001 as an alternative to pizza, Di Marco Pinsa has always focused heavily on lightness, digestibility and taste. However, from the very beginning of our journey, we have realized how crucial it is to evolve continuously, as consumers' needs, habits and tastes change. This need to adapt becomes even more central when it comes to designing an offer that will find its way into large-scale retail stores.
Naturally, consumers have different needs. Some prefer a captivating taste, others emphasize lightness and caloric intake, but there are also those who seek above all a long shelf life, so as to be ready for any eventuality. In contrast, there are those who seek a snack that can be enjoyed quickly, even on its own, or those who want a product that does not require to be stored in the fridge, saving valuable space and making everyday life easier. The challenge Di Marco Pinsa faces is precisely to satisfy a diverse clientele, offering a range of products that can meet multiple needs.

The Classic Chilled, our flagship product

Pinsa Romana Classic Chilled is the product from which it all began. It is renowned for its mix of wheat, rice and soy flours, its 72-hour rising time, and its distinctive taste and shape. If Di Marco Pinsa is known around the world, it is because of it.
The Classic is an artisanal creation that keeps intact all the nutritional elements and flavour of freshly baked pinsa romana. Moreover, making it is extremely easy, as it requires only 5 minutes in your home oven. To maintain its fragrance over time, Di Marco Pinsa Romana Classic Chilled should be stored between 0°C and 4°C in the fridge, and to adapt to consumer needs, it is available in one or two-pinsa packs
For the consumer, Di Marco Pinsa Romana Classic Chilled can be an alternative, but often an addition, to the purchase of seemingly similar products such as packaged piadinas and pizzas. The focus, here, is very much on the quality of the product and the innovative characteristics of pinsa romana compared to competitors with centuries of history. Finally, the visual angle that places pinsa romana as a (high-quality) alternative to classic sandwich and toast bread is very interesting.

The Multigrain Chilled, rich in flavour and fibre.

Just one product cannot meet everyone's needs. For this reason, we created Di Marco Pinsa Multigrain, for those who seek a more rustic flavour combined with maximum lightness, but without losing the fundamental qualities of Pinsa Romana Classic.
What makes the Multigrain different from the Classic is the dough: to the renowned flour mix we have added whole-wheat rye flour, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, oat flour, barley malt and barley flour. The result is an even more flavourful yet digestible dough with a high fibre content and lots of seeds that add a "crunch" to every bite. Multigrain keeps in the fridge and is available in one or two-pinsa packs.
The typical Pinsa Multigrain consumer is very health and wellness conscious and knows it is possible to combine these with a distinctive and intense taste. Not surprisingly, it is a very good choice for those on a vegetarian or vegan diet.

The Classic Room Temperature, for those with an ever-full fridge

In this case, dough has nothing to do with it. We made the Classic Room Temperature to meet the needs of those who have a small or constantly overflowing fridge, and at the same time want to enjoy our pinsa at its best. The Classic Room Temperature is thus a Classic in every way, but it eliminates the need for refrigeration, still providing long shelf life.
It is therefore an option that not only saves space in the fridge but also offers the same experience as the classic pinsa: lightness, craftsmanship, low fat and sugar, digestibility and crispness.
Also available in 1- and 2-pinsa packs.

The Classic Frozen, for those who always want to have a spare

Among the many new products in 2023, the Pinsa Romana Classic Frozen is one of the most interesting. This version of the Classic, which keeps intact all the features we love, is designed to meet the needs of those who are often faced with surprise guests, those who like to improvise an aperitivo at home or, more generally, those who prefer to avoid frequent trips to the supermarket.
The Classic Frozen has a shelf life of as much as 18 months, thus offering the flexibility of always having a ready-to-eat option available: in fact, its cooking requires only 2 minutes more than the Classic Chilled. This does not apply to those who plan to consume it in advance, because it only needs to be thawed to return to the "classic" 5 minutes of baking in the home oven. Ideal for families or, indeed, those who do not like to spend their time grocery shopping.
The Classic Frozen is now available in a 1-pinsa pack.

The Pinsa Romana Snack, for a quality snack.

The generous shape and size are distinctive features of the pinsa romana, but it is also true that offering only one size risks being limiting. The pinsa romana, in fact, is not simply a "single course" as we usually consider pizza, but can also be an afternoon nibble, a dessert at the end of the meal, a quick appetizer, a snack or a dinner for the little ones. In all these cases, and many others, the traditional size of pinsa is likely to fail to meet the consumer's needs. So, we have (almost) halved it and created two Snack versions of 130 grams (as opposed to 230 grams of the basic size): the Classic Chilled to be stored in the fridge and the Room Temperature for the pantry.
Both snack versions retain the winning features of Di Marco pinsa, including the very quick preparation (5 minutes cooking time), but meet different and more specific needs than those of the traditional size. They are also perfect for those who intend to experiment with new recipes, whether sweet or savoury, before “going public” and offering them to friends. Creativity is always the winning weapon.
The Snack Classic Chilled is available in packs with 1 or 2 bases, and the Snack Classic Room Temperature in packs with 1 base.
